Fun Friday- a gallery wall, estate sales, and TBG
Updated: Nov 11, 2020
This week I've been working on a gallery wall in the master bedroom. I wanted to create something like this around our TV- a wall that was feeling very empty and bare.
I originally thought I was over gallery walls, but realized after seeing that photo that I am definitely not! I love the mix of all the antique frames. I managed to get most of the frames up this week...I think I still want to add one or two...and now I'm working to get them filled with actual art.
I already can tell I love the overall impact so much though! I'm still working on the curtain situation on the other side of the room...I have some swatches I've ordered and I'm brainstorming extra long curtain rod options, so once those go in all I will need is to figure out some comfortable furniture in front of the window and this room may actually feel, dare I say...done?
Yesterday, two of my favorite instagramers Jenny from Tallwood Country House and Gwen from The Makerista went live together on instagram and it was so fun to watch!! They talked about thrifting, antiquing, and estate sales! They both have the same mentality as I do when hunting for antiques for their home and it was so fun to listen to their advice. It also made me realize I need to step up my estate sale game- I've had a few people tell me I need to start going to estate sales, but I have yet to actually go to one. I did a bit of research and the site estatesales.net lets you put in your zip code and shows you the sales that are coming up, locations, and some even have photos to preview the items. I'm putting this on my to-do list!
I'm currently doing Krystal Nielson's Fit for Fall TBG program! It's the fourth fitness program I've done with her and the facebook group of strong a$$ women and accountability are unlike anything I've ever experienced before. If you are looking for a safe space to learn more about health and fitness, gain some accountability, and get some serious motivation. I can't recommend it highly enough.
This weekend we will be hosting a socially distanced cul-de-sac Halloween party. It will be the first time we've had a party here since Covid and we are asking our guests to wear masks, but the kids don't care- they are so excited. It will be nice to do something a bit normal-ish. We're also going to try and trick-or-treat and see how that goes. What are you dressing up as? Are you planning to trick-or-treat?! It's been a crazy year, but I hope we can still make it as fun as possible for the kids!
