Fun Friday- Father's Day Ideas, Fab Fit Fun, and Summer

Writer's picture: Jennifer Laura Jennifer Laura

The kid's are home for summer! This week has been a slight adjustment as I now have both boys at home full time. My husband Kris' schedule is not as flexible as it used to be. He received a big promotion a few months back, which was awesome (!!), but it also means that he has to be at work much earlier than he used to and gets home long after the kids are asleep. I've decided to take things a little slower this summer, tackling projects at a calmer pace. I may even take a week off after the One Room Challenge is complete to give my kids an entire week of my time, which we both desperately need. In the meantime, Father's Day is coming up and I wanted to round up some of Kris' favorite things or things he would love to receive!

fathers day gift ideas 2021

baseball hat- no dad is going to complain about receiving a baseball cap and the older Kris gets the more he prefers things unbranded, he would love this vintage style one.

Toms sneakers- Kris also loves a basic sneaker, he will wear his until they are worn out and then get the exact same pair.

whiskey decanter set- I have been thrifting items for our bar cart for the last few months and I always get Kris' approval because he is definitely the bar expert! He would love to receive this set and if I hadn't been thrifting so many I would have probably snagged this one for him!

personalized pocket knife- Phoenix got Kris this personalized pocket knife for Christmas and it was a big hit, every dad wants more knives.

cocktail shaker set- this was a highly requested item from Kris last Christmas and I think he actually ended up with multiple shaker sets, this one was his favorite!

Framebridge gold plaque frame- I actually already snagged this frame for Kris and gave it to him a little early!

I of course personalized the brass plate to say World's Best Dad, it is SO special.

Ryobi table saw- this may actually be something I want, but Kris would probably use it just as much as me. We've come to the point in our DIY journey where we need a table saw and a miter saw... we did get a nail gun last week so we're making some headway!

charcuterie board- Kris has a lot of favorite charcuterie boards and he can pretty much turn any cutting board into one, but he would really like this one.

multi tool pocket knife- I had to add one more knife, this one is a multi tool and says "best dad ever", no dad is going to be upset about this, plus it's on Amazon Prime so perfect if you're shopping last minute.

Other fun things this week:

- I showed off my very first Fab Fit Fun box on Tik Tok this week and I may be a convert. It was like a big box of Christmas just for me! The video totally bombed which proved that I probably need to stay in my lane, but it was still so fun!

- Haneen's Haven incorporated these wallpaper niches into her shower tile and it was something I had never seen, it is stunning and something I am definitely saving for later!

- this Tik Tok reminded me of a documentary I had watched on Disney + last year which sent me down a rabbit hole of watching The Imagineering Story Shorts. Episode 6 in-particular shows how Imagineers have been creating these amazing animatronics to perform stunts in the parks. Time to plan our next trip to California!

Hope you guys have a great weekend, both me and Lincoln had a pretty bad cold this week so we haven't done much in terms of summer fun, but I'm hoping we can start enjoying our summer this weekend and hit up the pool and maybe our local water park as well!

xoxo,
