I always talk about how I do all of my makeovers on a shoestring budget, but sometimes I'm sure you're wondering... what does that even mean? For me it meant that I was able to take our laundry room from this...

to this...

for less than $3,000. A shoestring budget may mean something different to you and that's ok. I have a friend that would spend $3,000 just for a luxury handbag and I also have a friend who would think $300 is a shoestring budget. For me, it was about using what we had (existing walls/cabinetry) and transforming the space without completely gutting it. And I have to say I'm so happy with the result.

I'm also going to give you complete transparency on what was gifted vs. what I spent my own money on. I've calculated both totals just so you can see what it would have cost vs. what it actually cost. It's only slightly different and any of the items that were gifted were things I was definitely already planning to purchase.
So where did all the budget go? Let's get into it!
cabinetry prep/painting- $150
new countertop remnant + labor- $300
hardware- $175
peel and stick wallpaper (gifted by WallPops)- $375
washer and dryer surround/shelf build- $30
floor paint/sealer- $30
brass locker hooks- $87
faucet- $150
roman shade- $65
tile (gifted by Wayfair)- $210
tiling supplies- $150
light fixture (gifted by Shades of Light)- $650
accessories- $300
Laundry Room Total- $2,672
my total minus the gifted items- $1,437

I didn’t realize how tough DNP projects could get until I hit the halfway mark. Finding dnp capstone project writers with nursing backgrounds was a lifesaver. They weren’t just general academic writers—they had actual clinical experience. That made a huge difference in the depth and accuracy of the work. They even helped me polish my literature review. If you want your capstone to stand out, consider teaming up with specialists who know nursing inside out.
