One Room Challenge- Week 3
Updated: Jun 25, 2021
Here I am at week three of the One Room Challenge and even though I'm right on schedule I can't help but feel like I haven't gotten much done in here! This week Kris and I reupholstered the dining chairs with this blue velvet Crypton fabric I picked up at High Fashion Home.
Did you see us race to see if we could finish reupholstering all six chairs in fifteen minutes on instastories earlier this week? Haha, we totally failed and ran out of staples halfway through, but we were able to grab more that night and then knock it out the next day. All in all I think it took us about an hour to get them all done, but I'm a time optimist (apparently a real thing known as a tidsoptimist) so I always think I can get done more than I actually can in the time allotted. Here's what they looked like before...
And after with thew new fabric!
I love the color and how they turned out! I decided to leave the white linen that was originally on the chairs completely intact and underneath the new fabric, if I ever decide I want to go back to white, it would be a breeze just to rip off the layer of blue crypton. I shared a little tutorial of how I recovered these on instagram stories right here and if you prefer a photo and step by step tutorial- then you can check out this older post from when I reupholstered our breakfast nook chairs. I think the chairs are going to look so pretty with the dishes I plan to set the table with once the dining room is done!
I thrifted this blue English Chippendale china last month when I was in Missouri and I am obsessed!! I don't have enough for a full six place settings so I ordered these from Birch Lane to help fill in too. I'm hoping the patterns mix well together, we'll see! The next project up in here is the low-profile coffered ceiling. This is by far the thing I am the most nervous about, but once that's done I feel like everything else is going to be a breeze- and dang it, I can't wait until it's time to wallpaper!!
Stay tuned!
